Bringing Hope to Hawaiʻi’s Children Impacted by Incarceration
For 20 years, Camp Agape Hawaiʻi has surrounded children of incarcerated parents with unconditional love, mentorship, faith, and a community committed to helping them build a brighter future.
In 2026, we celebrate 20 years of bringing hope, healing, and transformation to children impacted by parental incarceration. Sadly, the heartbreaking reality remains: 80% of children with an incarcerated parent are likely to follow in their footsteps. But at Camp Agape, we are working to rewrite that story.
Through love, guidance, faith, and consistent support, less than 10% of our “Angels” go on to repeat the cycle of incarceration. We help children move from a path of hopelessness toward one filled with purpose, possibility, and hope—equipping them to become positive influences in their families and communities.
Camp is the beginning—mentorship continues the relationship throughout the year. Through ongoing mentorship and connection, our volunteers walk alongside these children beyond camp, providing encouragement, support, and positive role models when they need them most.
What began here in Hawaiʻi has grown into a movement across the nation, with six additional Camp Agape locations operating independently and modeled after the original Camp Agape Hawaiʻi.

We serve children and families in some of Hawaiʻi’s highest-risk and underserved communities.
CHANGE
The national statistic is heartbreaking: 80% of children with an incarcerated parent are likely to follow in their footsteps. For 20 years, Camp Agape Hawaiʻi has worked to change that trajectory. Of the more than 2,000 children we have served, less than 10% have gone on to repeat the cycle of incarceration. Our mission is to reach more children, surround them with positive role models, and help them discover hope, purpose, and a future filled with possibility.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER CAMP AGAPE?
Camp is the beginning—mentorship continues the relationship throughout the year. Camp Agape is just the beginning of a transformed life. Through our year-round mentorship program, we continue to walk alongside our Angels beyond the camp weekend, providing encouragement, friendship, guidance, and positive role models. Through weekly gatherings, quarterly events, life-skills activities, aquaponics, food fundraisers, and other opportunities, our mentors help equip our youth mentally, spiritually, and physically as they grow. Our goal is to walk alongside them through their adolescent years, helping them develop resilience, make wise decisions, discover their God-given purpose, and become the best version of themselves.

MENTORSHIP
